That’s why we’re introducing a new Saturday Segment called Raise Others Up where we’ll be sharing with you the companies, products and services that line up with our commitment to sustainability.

As with everything we do here at Honeydew Goods, we only want to promote habits, ideas and products that are good for the planet, don’t compromise the things you love (mostly), and are feasible to do at least 50% of the time.

Today’s featured company, Earth Hero, fits that commitment perfectly.

Think of a time when you’ve gotten complimented on something. Let’s say it’s ladies night at your place and one of your gal pals compliments a beautiful throw you just bought. How do you normally respond? “Thanks! I bought it at…” Sometimes you show them the Amazon link, sometimes it's from Target or Wayfair. Now they can go find one that is the same and purchase it for themselves. Way to be an influencer, babe!

Now you’ve ignited your own passion for buying something good and you’ve made your friends think about that too.

Why is this important? Well over 70% of products sold are done by us, the consumers. So if we don’t change our own buying habits, the government won’t be encouraged to change production expectations and businesses will continue to produce low cost, single use items that have to go somewhere.

And it doesn’t have to be hard! Just like shopping online has become something you’ve gotten used to, shopping sustainable online can be JUST AS EASY! The checks and balances, the cost and promoting of a sustainable product is much harder to do than just sourcing something that is popular but doesn’t require much thought.

Sure that item may be cheaper from Target or Walmart, but if it’s not sustainably made it’s also quite possible that it has chemicals you don’t want in your home, has a shelf life that doesn’t outweigh its usability and is made of lower quality.

So sure, sometimes shopping sustainable brands might cost a little more. But the VALUE you get in exchange is unparalleled.

All that said, if you just take a minute to scroll through all the different beautiful products that are on the Earth Hero site, you’ll see that the cost of many of those products is extremely fair and comparable to what you would buy from any number of popular brands.
